Hosford and the KSPORT USA/Ksport Racing team will receive pre-season support and technical assistance from championship Formula Drift team Chris Forsberg Racing. Using their competitive experience with the Nissan 350Z chassis, CFR will help revamp the KSPORT USA/Ksport Racing 350Z for its sophomore year of competition.

KSPORT USA/Ksport Racing and Chris Forsberg Racing will also share their combined pit crews and collective track knowledge throughout all seven events in the 2013 FD season. “I’m very excited about this opportunity,” Hosford related. “I’ve always looked at Chris (Forsberg) as a mentor of mine.”

Forsberg added, “I’m very happy to add Corey to our program. He has a very charismatic and positive attitude and is an excellent driver. I see a lot of potential in forming an alliance with Corey and Nick Jackson (of Ksport) and bringing on the Team KSPORT Racing Nissan 350Z. Our combined efforts should create opportunities for faster development and shared resources.”

Chris Forsberg has been competing in the Formula Drift series for almost a decade and has secured three Championship titles in that time. For more information on Chris Forsberg, visit www.chrisforsberg.com

NW Motiv Presents – The Round to Formula DRIFT Amateur Photography Contest – 2013

We’re proud to announce the Formula DRIFT Amateur Photographer contest has returned for its second year! Last year, we had over 50 entries through 4 intense rounds of very creative and thoughtful photos to pick one winner to join us track side at Formula DRIFT Seattle! This time, we’re doing it again, but making it much harder!

Want to feel the rush of the best drift cars in the world passing you by? Or maybe take the next best photo and get yourself recognized?  Starting now and for the first 4 rounds of Formula DRIFT, NWMotiv.com will give an amateur photographer the chance to shoot with us, trackside, at Formula Drift Round 5 – Seattle on July 19-20, 2013.

Compete head-to-head versus other photographers in our four shooting challenges, and the photographer with the most points after round four will be invited by us, NWMotiv.com, to shoot Formula DRIFT Round 5.  It’s no secret that approved photographers for the drift series are being cut, so be among the best and learn firsthand what it takes!

HOW IT WORKS:

Review the THEME & TECHNIQUE for the round and submit your photo before the deadline shown, one entry per person. Your submitted photo should follow the theme and demonstrate the technique provided in order to achieve the highest score possible. NWMotiv Editorial Staff, Josh Mackey and Armin Ausejo, will judge each photo on a points scale. Additionally, these photos will be posted to Facebook for additional public votes. For every 10 likes a photo receives on our gallery, an extra point is added to the total. MOST IMPORTANT RULE: DO NOT SUBMIT DRIFT PHOTOS.

RULES:

An Amateur Photographer as defined by this contest is a photographer that has not shot a Formula DRIFT/D1 event EVER. You MUST own a digital SLR camera. Each shot you submit must be your own; you must own the legal rights to it. All photos submitted should be original photos, not old, previous shot images or new edits. You are not required to be from the Northwest, but you must provide your own transportation and/or lodging if you are traveling. You agree to allow NWMotiv and Formula DRIFT to promote your photos online through their website and/or social media outlets. Last, but most important, this is an invite, we reserve the right to revoke it. The final contest winner will be held to the highest standards of professionalism and any acts that tarnish the image of either brand will be met with swift punishment.
