Over in Formula Drift, Fredric Aasbo was recently named not just the national champion, but the world champion. Drifting is a sport that encapsulates the entire excitement of automobiles into 30-second runs of fierce side-by-side competition. Similar to any other professional sport, the competitors are starting younger. We caught up with 19-year-old professional sideways specialist Alec Hohnadell, after finishing his second year in Formula Drift Pro 1, to discuss his journey up to this point.
Every year in California, we Californians are so lucky to have two Formula Drift events each year. I am glad that I live in the central California where drifting events happen to be in 4 hours north, or 4 hours south. Formula Drift is one of my favorite “I GOT TO GO” drift events. No matter what the circumstances are, each year, I plan to attend both Long Beach and Irwindale.
