Captains Log Day 5…from Jim

Woke up today and saw that the sky was clear, which means sunburn and lots of heat. Like it wasn’t bad enough that with cloud cover you can still get burned and sweat a ton. Today was the proving day for the drivers as the official enter the competition and hit the track for practice. Initally, it seems that everyone was very amprehensive but after a while it start to show to us who was standing out. Check out pics of the marshalls meeting, drivers meeting and how the course looks.

Captains Log Day 4…from Jim

Sorry folks, no camera again, but Ryan and Jarod should both be providing some more pics. Today was long. We were at the track all day, organized the course, gave some media rides and got about 12 teams set up. So after a long, hot, humid day, everyone was tired and yes, hungry again. We walked down to Paragon, one of the many huge malls but it wasn’t for shopping. We went to Din Tai Fung. Okay, yes I know we have it in LA but the closer to the original DTF in Taipei, the better these wonderful juicy pork dumplings tastes, so I think. Again, pictures of our getting fat!

Captains Log Day 3…from Jim

Didn’t have the camera with me at the track but we were there overseeing some step up stuff. We also had a staff meeting… including the medical team that will be working the F1 race in September. They are hard core here… F1 medical team… goodness! But really what Singapore is hard core about is food. Most of the team arrived today Ryan Sage, Andy Luk, Jarod DeAnda, Casper Canul and Conrad Grunewald, so my wife and I took them to get chili crab, yes again. Oh man, we destroyed the place! Check out some of the feasting pics…

Food is here, ready to get down. (My quote would have been Formula D gets crabs in Singapore -jp)

Captain’s Log Day 2 from Jim…

After a long first day I got to sleep around 11pm local time. Woke up at about 7am, went down to have some hotel breakfast… one thing about tropical countries, fruit and fruit juice is always good. After breakfast, I got in touch with Ryan to button up some last minute details before he got the on plane. Marcus’s wife Amy came and picked up my wife and I. We met up with Marcus, Marcus’s brother Ming and his girlfriend Vivian for some good ‘ol Hainan chicken and rice.
