Following a highly successful 2020 competition series, and despite many challenges caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, Formula DRIFT is pleased to return to a full schedule for 2021. By releasing the schedule now, the organizers are enabling teams and fans to make plans for the new season, which kicks off in May at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta – the venue for the very first Formula DRIFT round in May 2004.

FORMULA DRIFT LINK ECU PROSPEC CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCED FOR 2021 SEASON

Formula DRIFT is excited to announce the evolution of the Link ECU PRO2 Championship. With a multi-year plan to roll out new Technical Regulations and enhancements for competitors, Formula DRIFT, in partnership with Link ECU, will transform the PRO2 series into the Formula DRIFT Link ECU PROSPEC Championship, effective immediately.

RESULTS FROM THE 2020 FORMULA DRIFT VIRTUAL AWARDS

Formula DRIFT ends each season with its annual awards ceremony. Despite the restrictions placed on it by COVID-19, the organizers wanted to recognize the top teams and drivers who make the sport truly special. As a result, they created a Virtual Awards Banquet for 2020 and made it available via the very popular Formula DRIFT livestream, allowing fans to join in for the very first time.

As is traditional at the end of a competitive Formula DRIFT season, everybody involved in the sport gets together to celebrate the winners and recognize the contributions made by people at every level. However, 2020 hasn’t been a traditional year. And so, for the very first time, Formula DRIFT will be holding a Virtual Awards Banquet and everybody is invited!

10. Mike Power Wins Pro 2!

Wow, Mike Power dominated Irwindale Speedway and took home his first career Pro 2 victory to close out his Rookie season. He had an amazing emotional moment breaking down and crying once he was announced as the winner. It is a truly inspirational and aspiration for any rookie driver to bring home a victory at Irwindale Speedway. Mike managed to build on a great performance he put down in Texas with a Final Four finish and I think he has some serious potential to compete for the 2021 Pro 2 Championship. Matt has a great under watched recap series going on his YouTube at Power Racing and I suggest tuning in his for Irwindale recap soon.
