RESULTS FROM FD PRO SEEDING BRACKET

1.   Mike Power (USA) – Power Racing Nissan S15
2.   Alec Robbins (USA) – Robbins Race Co Nissan 350Z
3.   Robert Thorne (USA) – ASM E46 BMW M3

NOTES

  • The weather was sunny, hot and with a light breeze for the K&N PRO Seeding Bracket
  • With the Top 24 competition places determined by the results from Round 5, positions 25-32 would be decided by competitive tandem runs in the Seeding Bracket. The top eight finishers would advance to Saturday’s competition heats, while the remaining drivers would be eliminated
  • Several drivers were absent for the first Seeding Bracket heats, presenting bye runs to Daniel Stuke (USA), Derek Madison (USA), Robert Thorne (USA), and Federico Sceriffo (Italy)
  • Among the drivers unable to start was reigning Formula DRIFT PROSPEC Champ Ben Hobson (USA). He bowed out from the bracket after hitting his head during a practice run and elected to retire, adding more anguish to his frustrating season
  • Seeding Bracket winner Mike Power qualified 25th for the Top 32 competition heats and will battle rookie sensation Conor Shanahan (Ireland) tomorrow
  • Second-place Robbins drove aggressively throughout the Seeding Bracket before losing to Power after making a number of small mistakes in their Final battle. Robbins will go heads-up against hometown hero Dylan Hughes (USA) in the Top 32
  • In a battle of the BMWs, third place Thorne will meet Adam LZ (USA) in the Top 32 heats. LZ is poised to make a monster comeback after destroying the LZMFG E36 BMW in the previous Round. However, he obtained a new E36 bodyshell and the team built the new car in record time
  • Given the number of “no shows,” only Rudy Hansen (USA), Dmitriy Brutskiy and Andy Hateley (USA) were eliminated from the Seeding Bracket
