COMPETITION NOTES

  • The eight selected drivers were equally split between the Formula DRIFT PRO and PROSPEC Championships. However, the latter don’t compete on the Streets of Long Beach course during their competitive season, giving the PRO drivers an advantage
  • All four PRO drivers won their Top 8 battles against their PROSPEC rivals and advanced to the Final 4
  • In a repeat of Day 1, Jones took third after again capitulating to Charpentier’s precision in the Final 4
  • And in a further repeat of yesterday’s Final, Charpentier and Stuke faced off for Super Drift honors. This time, the Nissan driver got the nod from the judges on a split decision. Stuke’s clean initiation on his lead run and better proximity in the chase position gave him the narrow win
  • Charpentier appeared unbeatable all night in his BMW but made minor errors in the Final to finish second
  • Formula DRIFT Super Drift will return to the 2026 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach to entertain the fans. And the Formula DRIFT Final Round 8 will take place on a brand new Streets of Long Beach course on October 17-18 for fans who want to see more of the world’s top drifting series
