PRO NOTES
- Taking place on a new course constructed by Formula DRIFT for the first time on the Streets of Long Beach, Round 8 of the 2025 FD PRO Championship will be the first time the Final Round of the season hasn’t taken place at Irwindale Speedway following the sale and demolition of the House of Drift
- Long Beach 2 was designed by Formula DRIFT to encourage close competition on a highly technical course, which has seven Outside Zones for the drivers to master
- The first 20 PRO Championship competition places were locked in according to the drivers’ ranking achieved at the previous Round, with the 12 remaining competition places decided by the Type S PRO Seeding Bracket qualification
- Fourteen drivers were participating, which meant two unfortunate entrants would be eliminated according to the lowest ranking among the drivers who lost their heat in the Top 16 Seeding Bracket. Sadly, we bid farewell to Dmitriy Brutskiy (USA) and Federico Sceriffo (Italy)
- After some intense competition, which saw many drivers struggle with the demanding track layout, Ryan Litteral emerged the winner after eliminating Brutskiy in the Top 16, Jonathan Hurst (USA) in the Top 8, and two-time FD PRO Champion Gittin Jr in the Final 4. Gushi was unable to start the Final following a technical issue in his semi-final battle against Connor O`Sullivan (USA). This allowed Litteral to collect the maximum 12 Championship points for winning the Seeding Bracket qualification
- Competing in only his second round of the 2025 season, Vaughn Gittin Jr was required to qualify because he had no established ranking from the previous Round. He muscled the RTR Mustang around the tight course but lost in the Final 4 to Litteral after a small mistake in Outside Zone 6, which saw Gittin Jr’s car over-rotate and require a significant correction. He now faces a formidable challenge in Top 32 Competition heats on Saturday, having drawn Ryan Tuerck in what should be a bare knuckle throwdown
- Litteral will face Connor Shanahan in Competition, while Gushi is matched against fellow countryman, Wataru Masuyama. The full Top 32 Competition Bracket is available below
