RESULTS FROM FD PROSPEC QUALIFYING
- Dmitriy Brutskiy – DriftHQ / Link ECU / ISC Suspension / Enkei Wheels BMW M3 with Royal Purple
- Rye O’Connor (USA) – Ignited Soul Nissan 350Z
- Alex Jagger (USA) – Forsberg Racing Nissan 370Z
NOTES
- World Wide Technology Raceway hosts the third round of the 2022 Formula DRIFT Link ECU PROSPEC Championship as well as Round 5 of the FD PRO Championship
- The weather was warm and clear for the FCP Euro Knockout Qualifying, which started in sunlight and ended after dark
- Top qualifier Brutskiy scored 86 points and maintains his momentum after the Round 2 win at FD NJ. Brutskiy receives a bye run through the Top 32 competition heats as he builds his Championship challenge
- Second place O’Connor was the big surprise in qualifying. A Championship Rookie in 2021, his 77-point run represents his best qualifying result to date and gifted him a bye run through the Top 32
- Third place Jagger scored 76 points, repeating his Round 2 qualifying position. He’ll hope to improve his fifth-place Championship position in the competition heats
- Link ECU PROSPEC Championship leader and series Rookie Robert Thorne (USA) qualified fourth in the ASMotorsport / Kats Coin BMW M3
- 32 drivers qualified for positions in the Top 32 competition heats, nine of whom failed to complete a first run but had a second chance in the Knockout Qualifying Format (KQF)
- Sitting second in the PROSPEC Championship coming into FD STL, Ben Hobson (USA) failed to complete his second run in KQF driving the Automotive Innovations / Koruworks / Motegi Racing Nissan S14.5. He was subsequently eliminated from the event, giving a bye run to the top qualifier and severely damaging his title hopes
- Carlos Arrieta (USA) and Jack Davis (USA) also failed to negotiate KQF, giving bye runs to the second and third place qualifiers, respectively
- All PROSPEC teams must use Link ECU engine management as well as GT Radial tires supplied and fitted by TireStacks
- FCP Euro, Royal Purple and Throdle contingency programs are available for PROSPEC competitors who meet defined criteria
