RESULTS FROM FD PROSPEC ROUND 2

  1. Cole Richards (USA) – Richards Racing / Koruworks Scion FRS
  2. Dmitriy Brutskiy – DriftHQ E46 BMW
  3. Andy Hateley (USA) – Hateley Motorsports Habanero E46 BMW

NOTES

  • All FD PROSPEC cars are required to use GT Radial tires and Link ECU engine management
  • After winning his first Formula DRIFT PROSPEC Round in his Rookie year, 19 year-old Richards was too young to enjoy his celebratory champagne on the podium
  • Qualifying 13th, Richards defeated double PROSPEC Champion Brutskiy in a very close Final that went “One More Time” after a collision on the first run was attributed to mistakes by both drivers. Richards eventually won on sheer determination after their fourth run
  • The win moves Richards to third in the 2023 PROSPEC standings and the leading Rookie
  • Second placed Brutskiy kickstarted his 2023 Championship bid. He arrived in Englishtown in 21st position and leaves in fifth
  • After finishing third overall in the 2022 PROSPEC Championship, Hateley was languishing in 17th following the opening round, but his third place New Jersey result has catapulted him to ninth
  • A well-deserved fourth place went to Faruk Kugay (Turkey) driving the ENEOS Oil / Pedal Commander Nissan S14. He’s enjoying a return to Formula DRIFT competition after a hiatus from the PRO Championship following the 2020 season. Using PROSPEC to rebuild his program, Kugay now sits seventh in the title race after two solid rounds
  • Rudy Hansen (USA), winner of the Opening Round in his Track Tires / Mast Motor / J&A Racing Oil Nissan 240SX S13, was knocked out of the Top 8 heats by Kugay. Hansen placed seventh on the night, retaining his PROSPEC Championship lead from Ben Hobson (USA) by a narrow six-point margin
  • Fifteen year-old sensation Jayden Martorana (Canada), who qualified second in his Empire Auto C6 Corvette, was eliminated from the Top 16 heats by Kugay. He dropped from sixth to tenth overall
