Winner: Fredric Aasbo (Norway) – Rockstar Energy Drink / Nitto Tire GR Supra
Second: Michael Essa (USA) – FCP Euro / LiquiMoly / Achilles Tires BMW M3
Third: Chelsea DeNofa (USA) – BC Racing / Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR
NOTES
- For the first time this season, Round Seven of the FD PRO Championship took place on Friday, leaving the weekend for both the PRO and Link ECU PRO2 Championships to be decided
- The Irwindale Speedway track layout was changed slightly for 2020 to give the drivers a fresh challenge
- A significant number of Championship contenders were eliminated early, including Justin Pawlak (USA) in the Roush Performance / Falken Tire Ford Mustang (7th) and Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis (Lithuania) in the Falken Tire / Feal Suspension Nissan S15 (6th) who were knocked out of the Top 32
- Ryan Tuerck (USA) in the Gumout / Nitto Tire / Mobil 1 Toyota Corolla (2nd) replaced his engine after the Top 32 heat but hit the wall during his Top 16 heat when cooling track conditions caught him out
- Chris Forsberg (USA) driving the NOS Energy Drink Nissan 370Z on Nexen Tires (3rd) withdrew from the Top 16 with engine problems
- Vaughn Gittin Jr (USA) in the Monster Energy / Nitto Tire / Ford Performance Mustang RTR Spec 5-D (1st) spun out during his Top 4 chase against Aasbo, and then hit the wall in his third-place run-off against teammate DeNofa, finishing fourth overall but retaining the Championship points title
- Adam LZ (USA) was again the leading Rookie. Driving a replacement Enjuku Racing Nissan S14.5, he finished 13th overall and claimed the 2020 Formula DRIFT PRO Rookie title
- Nitto Tire has clinched the 2020 Formula DRIFT Tire Cup with an unbeatable lead over its competitors
- Going into Round Eight, the top five drivers are within 100 points of the leader and mathematically able to win the 2020 FD PRO Championship on Sunday
