NOTES

  • FD New Jersey takes place at the purpose-built drift arena built around the former NHRA drag strip at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park (Englishtown)
  • Using a figure-8 course, fans have a perfect view from the tiered stadium seating for the sell-out event
  • Under the new format, PRO and PROSPEC Championships both qualify on Friday and compete on Saturday, giving them equal exposure to fans and the livestream
  • The new Knockout Qualifying Format (KQF) will again be used, with the top seeded drivers running first. The bottom eight drivers have a chance to run a second time to improve their position or perhaps recover from an incomplete run
  • 33 FD PRO drivers attempted to qualify for the 32 available places in the competition heats. Ryan Litteral (USA) was the unfortunate driver to be eliminated, losing out by one point to Adam LZ (USA)
  • The top four FD PRO qualifiers placed in exactly the same order as Round Two qualifying results. Can Chelsea DeNofa repeat his performance by qualifying first and winning the round?
  • FD PRO Championship points leader, Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis (Lithuania), again qualified fourth in the Falken Tire / Feal Suspension Nissan S15
  • Top placed FD PRO rookie is again 17 year-old Branden Sorensen (USA) driving the 212 Performance / Sorensen Motorsports BMW. He qualified 16th
  • 35 drivers attempted to qualify for the 32 available places in the Link ECU PROSPEC competition heats. However, four were ultimately eliminated with incomplete runs, giving Dmitriy Brutskiy a bye run in the Top 32 heats
  • Brutskiy, the reigning PROSPEC Champion, currently sits third in the Championship standings
  • Technical problems for Blake Olsen (USA), currently second in PROSPEC standings, meant he didn’t travel to FD NJ with the KoruWorks / GT Radial BMW E92
  • Top placed PROSPEC rookie is Josiah Fallaise (Canada), who qualified fifth driving the DriftHQ / FDF Raceshop Nissan S14
