RESULTS FROM FD PRO QUALIFYING

  • Fredric Aasbo (Norway) – Rockstar Energy Toyota GR Supra
  • Chelsea DeNofa (USA) ­– Pennzoil / BC Racing Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD
  • Travis Reeder (USA) – Travis Reeder Motorsports / GT Radial BMW M3

NOTES

  • The banked Speedworld oval track runs a figure-8 course with small bumps the drivers must anticipate when leaving and rejoining the banking
  • Warm, humid weather greeted the PRO drivers for K&N Qualifying, with rain arriving for the final runs and the Knockout Qualifying Format
  • Top qualifier Aasbo comes to Orlando leading the FD PRO Championship after his Round 2 win. His 94-point run has put him in a strong position for the competition heats
  • DeNofa scored 93 points, displaying all the aggression that makes him a fan favorite. However, Reeder came from nowhere to score an identical 93 points, missing second place by a single style point from the judges
  • Top Rookie qualifier was Ola Jaeger (Norway) who qualified 18th with 86 points in the Team Japan Auto / Nexen Tire Toyota Supra
  • Competition was extremely tight at FD Orlando, with the top ten drivers scoring 90 points or better, and 22 drivers within ten points of Aasbo
  • 36 drivers attempted to qualify for the Top 32 competition heats. Under the Knockout Qualifying Format, the bottom eight drivers must run a second time to fill the final places
  • After KQF, Simen Olsen (Norway), Joshua Love (USA), Kyle Mohan (USA) and Joao Barion (Brazil) were eliminated from tomorrow’s competition heats
