Round 1 of Formula Drift Japan was held during the Japan Motor Games last July 11-12 at the Fuji International Speedway. Here’s a look on the drivers paddock, demo cars and a special Rotary 0nly meet. Enjoy the photos.

The UP Garage drift car is driven by Kazuya Taguchi. It has a full GP Sports body kit and  D9R’s from Work Wheels, good to see it still running the SR20.

25

The Fatlace x Weld drift car was present, livery looked really good in person.

26

Being a demo car for Tokyo Auto Salon 2015, this X100 had one of the cleanest engine bays I’ve seen.

12

The Team Mori/Goodyear GS350 was driven by Kenji Takayama. The car has a 3.6l 2JZ engine producing 850 horsepower.

14

OG driver Masayoshi Tokita‘s Toyota Crown which produces 700hp using a 3.4l 2JZ engine.

18

The champion’s car: Masato Kawabata‘s 1000 hp Team Toyo Tires Drift/Trust Racing Nissan 35RX GTR.

19

20

Robbie Nishida‘s R35 looked really wild as he ran for Liberty Walk.

21

1000 horses never looked so good. The way it sounded was incredible.

24

Yuji Tanaka’s 2JZ.

22

Daigo Saito‘s 1200 hp 2jz found in his Sc430.

15

16

The 380SX from BenSopra.

17

23

Mercury Z33 Gt3 driven by  Noritsugo Totani. I heard this one had a 1000hp 2Jz.

30

The parking lot is a must-shoot during these types of events. Check out the street version of the Mercury Z33.

31

It had a custom finish for the Work Meister M1R’s with the spec of 18×10.5-inch +15.

28

I also spotted JC of Work Wheels Japan during his on-going shoot of this Z33.

29

CR Kai’s never run out of style.

11

Work Wheels Japan also introduced new colors for the ‘classic’ wheel. It flash-backed that I was in the same booth last year dreaming about this set.

13

With a hunt for more aggressive specs, Meister’s or Cr2P’s appealed more to me this year. Hmm!

32

34

So how do you make a Rocket Bunny ZN6 more aggressive? The guys from 326 Power Japan led by Haruguchi Mitsuruadded their personal touch to the popular kit.

33

Still can’t figure out what wheels are these. Anyone?

36

Valenti, a popular choice of lighting products displayed their Liberty Walk GTR.

10

I will also include my 20-minute trip to the RX-7 meet in this post.

RE Amemiya‘s never stops progressing! First time to see 997 headlights matted on the FD3s. Spot on with the Enkei RS055’s.

9

Another Tokyo Auto Salon RE Amemiya demo car, this time with 993 headlights and TE37’s.

5

Perfectly pulling off that 90’s vibe! My favorite during the meet.

6

7

Mix and match!

8

VIP styled FC RX-7.

2

As I mentioned earlier, the event had familiar cars like this JZX100 Chaser from URAS. Good to see my current wallpaper in the flesh – as I almost saved all photos of this car when it was launched last Tokyo Auto Salon 2015.

Nicely done R35 from SKIPPER Japan on Work Wheels Cr2p’s. The 8-piece kit costs around 770,000 yen, it pulls out a premium but I personally think it’s worth it.

Hope you enjoyed this post.
