- Andy Hateley (USA) – Hateley Motorsports BMW E46

NOTES
- Utah Motorsports Campus is a new facility to the Formula DRIFT Championships, presenting all drivers with a high-speed challenge
- The weather was warm and cloudy for the PROSPEC FCP Euro Knockout Qualifying, hot and sunny for the PRO K&N Knockout Qualifying
- A change of format means both Championships qualify in Thursday, allowing the PROSPEC Final to take place on Friday, with PRO Round 7 on Saturday
PRO NOTES
- Fifteen drivers scored 90 points or more, with three awarded 94 points, including top qualifier Aasbo. He took the decision thanks to a superior style score over second place Hughes and Castro in third. Sitting second in the PRO Championship, Aasbo will be looking to close the gap to leader Field
- Matt Field (USA) could only qualify the Drift Cave / Falken Tire C6 Corvette in 23rd place, giving him a challenging path to the competition Final. Field has yet to win a 2022 round
- Top Rookie qualifier was Nick Noback (USA) who qualified 11th in KoruWorks E46 BMW. He currently sits second in the Rookie title chase behind Mike Power (USA)
- 36 drivers attempted to qualify for the Top 32 competition heats. After the Knockout Qualifying Format (KQF), Adam LZ, Yves Meyer, Joao Barion and Dan Burkett would take no further part
PROSPEC NOTES
- With 14 drivers having a mathematical chance of winning the 2022 Link ECU PROSPEC Championship, the FCP Euro qualifying session would be critical because it scores points for the top three drivers, decides the competition match-ups and would allocate bye runs if drivers failed to qualify
- 2022 Rookie Kohl surprised everybody by qualifying in first position. Placed 11th in the Link ECU PROSPEC Championship, he’s 84 points from the title lead and undoubtedly keen to make a big impact in the final round
- Second place Hateley won the opening round in Orlando and 31 points from the PROSPEC lead, has a genuine chance to claim the 2022 title
- Similarly, third place Jagger sits in fourth, 22 points from the top and within reach of the winner’s trophy
- Link ECU PROSPEC Championship leader and Rookie Robert Thorne (USA) put his ASMotorsport / Kats Coin BMW M3 in eighth position, one place ahead of Dmitriy Brutskiy who is currently in second, one point behind Thorne and eager to win a third PROSPEC title with his DriftHQ / Link ECU / ISC Suspension / Enkei Wheels BMW M3 with Royal Purple
- 31 drivers qualified for the Top 32 competition heats, with the bottom eight running a second time as part of KQF. And with seven ruled incomplete on their first run, they needed to score points to avoid elimination. However, Rye O’Connor and Dustin Miles were unsuccessful and ended their 2022 season early. As a result, the top three drivers receive a bye run through the Top 32 competition heats
- All PROSPEC teams must use Link ECU engine management as well as GT Radial tires supplied and fitted by TireStacks
- FCP Euro, Royal Purple and Throdle contingency programs are available for PROSEPC competitors who meet defined criteria. After the Final, the FCP Euro Cup will award $10,000 to the leading driver of a European vehicle participating in the program
