AutoGuide.com posted this great article on the DriftStream. Check it out.

All forms of motorsports – take note! Formula Drift, in association with YoParts.com has successfully launched the first ever full live streaming of their events to the world. Other sanctioning bodies have tried this in the past, but with hardly any sort of success. Needless to say when they first told us about Driftstream 2010 we were a little skeptical. Instead of jumping the gun and making a post, we decided to check it out ourselves during this past weekend’s event, then report on the quality. The verdict? Read on:

We first logged onto the Driftstream website during qualifying on Friday and were pleasantly surprised on how smooth and surprisingly lag free the video was. It was as close to real-time as we could get without driving the 40 miles to Long Beach, California. The video commentary was nicely done, and the production gets two thumbs up from us by keeping the viewer up to date with standings, points and results.

For those that are unable to attend the Formula Drift 2010 events out of their range, Driftstream is a fantastic way to catch it all. Adding to the experience, there are thousands of other fans chatting it up on the site at the same time.

We’ll admit that there’s absolutely no substitute to inhaling tire smoke and seeing the cars up close and personal, but this is by far the best second option we’ve been able to get our hands on and best of all – it’s free! We hope other forms of sanctioning bodies take notes on what Formula Drift done.

If you missed Formula Drift’s season opener at Long Beach, California, head on over to the Live Stream channel now to watch a recap of the entire event. Don’t forget to stay tuned for the next event at Road Atlanta on May 7-8th, 2010. And again, all events will be streamed live so follow Formula DRIFT’s schedule and catch all the action this season, no matter where you are.

Formula DRIFT Singapore Day 5 – It’s All Over

Well, I am actually writing this latest entry as I am now back in LA after a 20 hour trek back across the Pacific from Singapore. I took quite a bit of video on the final day in Sing so I will be working on a small video blog that will hopefully encapsulate the competition and the dominant win by Malaysia’s Tenku Djan. Here are a few pics from our last day and a cool vid of our sound guy singing some GNR. This guy was pretty epic. He told us he was a lounge singer so of course we were provoking him to belt out some choons all day. Guy had a wicked good voice.

Till next time..

Singapore Day 4 – It’s Still Hot Here

So, we are entering day 4 here in Singapore, which for the U.S. boys is really day 6 when you consider the traveling and what not. My slowly diminishing number of photos in comparison to the other days is a direct reflection of the event days getting crazier and us getting more tired. The feeling of being here in this amazing country is slowly being taken over by the fact that when we get back to our hotels and hit the pillow, it’s an extremely quick fade to black operation.

That being said, today is game day and we have seen some really good drifting. This track is very challenging for the drivers as it has a little bit of World Championship, a little bit of Long Beach and a little bit of Atlanta all in the same track as Andy and I were talking about yesterday. Our number 1 qualifier was Miki but Djan is showing signs that he is not messing around either. His first qualifying run was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen pretty much ever, but he just could not quite pull off the angle and had to settle for a more conservative second run.

Anyway, should be a great day!

Video of Djan Entry. I messed it up because I was so excited, but you’ll get the idea.

Singapore Day 3 – Jim, Ryan, Jarod, Dai and now Andy Yen Adventures

Day Three – It’s still hot and humid, but we are all getting use to it. The track is finished and all the grandstands are installed. The cars teams have rolled in and we had media day as well as final touches on the track clipping points by master “track layer outer” Andy Yen and of course Dai. Always fun watching Dai drive, a real talent for sure. Dai is amazingly popular here, just as he is in the states. It seems to be even more crazy here as where ever we go people are always stopping him and taking photos, etc etc. Pretty cool. I am stoked for him.

Ok, day four began 20 minutes ago…. off to the venue for practice and qualifying
