The 2019 Formula DRIFT Black Magic PRO Championship and Formula DRIFT Link ECU PRO2 Championship set up camp this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway near Dallas for the Advance Auto Parts Showdown presented by Rain-X. As the final round for the Link ECU PRO2 Championship, and with 12 drivers having a mathematical chance of taking the title, the capacity crowd was guaranteed intense entertainment. It was also the penultimate round of the PRO category, with the top six drivers separated by just 76 points, so there would be a lot of pressure on the top teams to try to break away from the pack.

Following a month-long hiatus, Formula Drift is back in action this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Jumping back into his Mustang RTR Spec 5-D yesterday, it was clear that Chelsea had no rust to shake as he immediately, and in Chelsea fashion, was treating Thursday practice like Saturday finals. His high-speed show continues today with a morning practice session followed by qualifying this afternoon.

10. Adam LZ Goes Top Qualifier

Adam LZ rolls out his S15 Silvia to the new layout at World Wide Technology Raceway and brings home top qualifier in Pro 2. It is quite a big statement of intent and talent after all the pressures and doubt thrust onto him to score a 94 with a 90 backup. The limited amount of track data and practice made this track a challenge for the Pro drivers all weekend as well as the Pro 2 field. If you check out his Youtube Vlog from the weekend the qualifying lap was even more chaotic as they figured out he had a blown head gasket just before he had to make a qualifying pass.
