ELECTRIC SIGNS ON AS OFFICIAL EYEWEAR SPONSOR FOR 2013 FORMULA DRIFT SEASON

SAN CLEMENTE, CA – Electric announced today that they have signed on as the official eyewear sponsor for the 2013 Formula Drift season.

Entering their first year as the official eyewear sponsor of the 2013 Formula Drift season, Electric will have track presence during the professional drifting championship series, and will outfit the Formula Drift staff and select drivers with Electric gear.

Electric will follow and support drivers such as Ryan Tuerck, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chris Forsberg as they intentionally maneuver their cars into sideways slides at high speeds through seven championship competitions.

Join the Electric team and athletes as they kick off the 2013 season this weekend at the Long Beach GP Street Course, April 12th & 13th. The team will be raffling out free prizes, showcasing their latest sunglass models, and supporting their athletes.

Round 1: Streets of Long Beach – Ticket Update

Formula DRIFT fans,

As a courtesy to those that have not purchased tickets to this weekend’s event, please be advised that less than 500 unreserved grandstand seats remain available for the event. If you are planning on attending the event and would like to have a seat, please purchase your tickets as soon as possible. Once those tickets are sold out, there will be no more seats available, HOWEVER Formula DRIFT has received approval from the city of Long Beach to sell a limited quantity of general admission tickets with access to the entire event and a grass standing and seating area on the marina green side of the venue, next to grandstands 24, 25 and 26. You may bring your own folding chairs for this area. These tickets will go on-sale immediately following the last ticket sold for the grandstands. These tickets will be available online and the Long Beach Convention Center box office.

Life Blasters is holding a contest and this Friday (4/5/13) they’ll be giving 2 winners a pair of general admission tickets to Round 1: Streets of Long Beach.

Here’s how the contest works:

-Submit your guess of how much horsepower Taka Aono’s 2013 Formula DRIFT Championship AE86 will produce by leaving a comment in the comments section of their article.

-Be sure your first and last name is included in either the user name, or the comment text.

-This Friday 4/5/13, they will select the 2 guesses that are closest to the actual horsepower number and award each winner with a pair of General Admission tickets to Formula DRIFT Round 1: Streets of Long Beach!

Formula DRIFT Announces Partnership with Dailymotion to create web series, Battle Tested

Long Beach, Calif. – March 29th, 2013 – Formula DRIFT has announced a new partnership with Dailymotion via the creation of a web series called, Battle Tested. The series will highlight the search for a Formula DRIFT championship through the eyes of each rounds winner and showcase behind the scenes exclusive footage that has not been seen before.

“This is going to be a very cool project. Along with Dailymotion’s continued support with broadcasting our live stream, we have now added this web series as an additional part of the story for race to the Championship in 2013,” says Ryan Sage, Co-Founder of Formula DRIFT.

“Dailymotion is very excited to be partnering with Formula DRIFT. Between live streaming the events and co-producing the exclusive behind-the-scenes series, Battle Tested, we feel Dailymotion can be an integral component in helping to grow the popularity of this thrilling new sport,” says Anthony Layser, Senior Editor of Dailymotion.

Battle Tested will debut on Dailymotion the week leading up to the first event in Long Beach, April 12-13th and will feature 2011 series Champion, Daijiro Yoshihara.
