Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge This Weekend During the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach; Coverage on Friday and Saturday via Livestream

Long Beach, Calif. – April 18, 2013 – Formula DRIFT will be hosting the first Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge this weekend during the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Practice and competition to be shown on the Formula DRIFT Livestream on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM (PST.

For the first time in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach history, motorsports action will take place at night with the inaugural Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge. The invitational competition will pit sixteen of the top drifters from Formula DRIFT against each other for a $25,000 prize purse.

“After a successful Round 1: Streets of Long Beach event last weekend we are excited to bring drifting competition to the masses for a consecutive weekend during the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach,” said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “For the past few years we have showcased drifting, but never to this extent with a full action-packed competition and to top it off it will be at night for the first time in the history of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and we are anxious to showcase world-class drifting to this audience.”

The practice and competition will air live on the Formula Drift Livestream at 7:00 PM (PST) on both Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, 2013. Visit www.formulad.com/live to watch the action online. Drivers include:
