Formula Drift Pro Am All Stars Competition

What is the Formula Drift Pro Am All Stars Competition?

Quick Background:

The 2011 FD ProAm program continue to push and evolve how a driver becomes a pro. Each of the 8 regional FD ProAm affiliates staged a multi-round championship. At the end of their respective seasons, the top drivers were awarded FD Pro Licenses. Unlike in previous years when it was just a one-day “search”, making it almost a gamble for drivers if they had a good day or not. This current program makes drivers learn to function as a team; budgeting their season and planning for multiple events. Through a more rigorous program, FD rookies are making an impact immediately like 2011 Rookie of the Year leaders Odi Bakchis and Walker Wilkerson.

The 2011 Competition:

Now that each FD Affiliate Series has concluded their seasons, the newly awarded drivers have all been invited to attend the biggest drifting competition of the year, Formula Drift, Round 7: Title Fight at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on October 7-8, 2011. Drivers representing their home Series and region will be competing for new fans, new sponsors, media attention and bragging rights. Come support these guys and watch the rising stars of Formula Drift. Official entry list will be announced shortly.

Tickets are available for Round 7: Title Fight on October 7-8, including reserved seating, 2-day ticket packages, and VIP tickets. Ticket prices start at $26 online. Click here if you haven’t purchased your tickets to Round 7 – “Title Fight” Toyota Speedway at Irwindale

Champion – Mike Phillips
2nd – Chris Jeanneret
3rd – Andrew Coomes
4th – Kory Keezer

2011 marks Evergreen Drift’s fourth year in affiliation with the Formula Drift ProAm series. We’ve grown from a single driver invite in 2008 to a full-fledged five round series. Locals compete on the same course that Formula Drift pros battle on during the Seattle round at Evergreen Speedway.

Walker Wilkerson, Roland Gallagher, Nikolay Konstantinov, Ian Fournier, Kyle Pollard, and others all earned their way into the Formula Drift pro ranks through this series.

This season saw twenty-one unique drivers gun for the championship and four Formula Drift Pro licenses. Championships require dedication and consistency and the top four guys had to overcome major crashes, mechanical issues, or both to compete in all five rounds.

Evergreen Drift is proud to give you the 2011 Evergreen Drift ProAm Presented by NOS Champion and Formula Drift Pro license recipients.

Monore, WA – July 23, 2011 – Round 3 of the Evergreen Drift ProAm sanctioned by Formula Drift and presented by NOS Energy Drink saw the triumphant return of Ian Fournier and his Fatlace / ACT Clutch R32 Skyline.

Round 3 was held in conjunction with Formula Drift round 5 at Evergreen Speedway which drew in a capacity crowd of energetic drifting fans from all over the Northwest. According to Formula Drift attendance was up over 10% from last season’s event showing strong growth for the sport in the Pacific Northwest.

Evergreen Drift ProAm was breaking records as well with the largest field of competitors in the three year history of the series. Drivers from Washington, British Columbia, Oregon, and California compete in a five round quest to earn Formula Drift professional licenses.

Chris Jeanneret was looking strong all weekend in the CNC Autosports / Diversity Law S14. He was one of many that suffered mechanical issues and had to replace a blown transmission before qualifying on Friday and then hustle to fix bent suspension components before the Top 16 main event on Saturday. The CNC crew was able to keep the car running enabling Chris to finish third.

Nik Jimenez and his Intec Racing / Apexi / Falken Tire S13 joined the fray for the first time this season. Nik was not fazed at all by lack of seat time qualifying first and finishing second.

Ian Fournier debuted his retooled Fatlace / ACT Clutch R32 Skyline and is now sporting Nissan V8 power. His consistent and exciting runs brought home first place.

Podium Results:

1st – Ian Fournier | $500 | Product and $50 certificate from
2nd – Nik Jimenez (#1 Qualifier) | $300 | $50 for Top Qualifer | Product and $25 Certificate from
