Worthouse Drift Team set for Formula DRIFT debut in Long Beach

The new Worthouse Drift Team’s duo of Piotr Więcek and James Deane will make their debut in the Formula DRIFT Pro Championship in Long Beach, CA this weekend aiming to make their mark on the US drifting scene after years of dominating in Europe.

The Worthouse Drift Team is set to take part in all eight rounds of the world’s premier professional drifting competition with a pair of Falken Tire-shod, 900 hp Nissan Silva S15s maintained by Bridges Racing and driven by Piotr Więcek, a 27-year-old Pole and three-time, reigning Polish Drift Masters GP Champion, as well as the 25-year-old James Deane from Ireland, a five-time Irish and European Drift Champion. Jeff Jones Racing of the US Formula Drift Championship Series is extremely proud to announce that we have partnered up with Edelbrock performance for the 2017 FD season. We will be running the E-Force supercharger in our fully equipped race engine from CPR. The E-Force Supercharger will be on display under the hood and in the pits for the fans to get up close and personal.

“I am super excited to announce that I am bringing Edelbrock and the E-Force Supercharger into Formula Drift. I grew up seeing Edelbrock in magazines and now I get to represent them in the sport of drifting. I think we are a new generation of muscle heads jamming 500 to 800 HP into these small chassis and then going out and sliding them. I think that Edelbrock coming into the sport of drifting is just one more thing that solidifies how large drifting has become in the US. I also think that drifters and car builders of today will be happy to see Edelbrock is making parts that we can use for our daily drivers and our race cars.” Jeff Jones

Formula DRIFT 2017 Pro Championship Season Kicks Off in 4 Days in Long Beach

Long Beach, Calif. – March 27, 2017 – The Formula DRIFT Black Magic Championship presented by BlackVue Dash Cameras will kickoff the 14th Pro Championship season beginning with Round 1: Streets of Long Beach in 4 days.

On March 31 – April 1, drifting will return to city streets in Long Beach, CA. 3-time Formula DRIFT champion, Chris Forsberg in the NOS Energy Nissan 370Z will look to defend his championship and has teamed up with top driver Ryan Tuerck. Also joining forces this season will be Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chelsea DeNofa, the winner of Round 1 last season, who will be piloting the second Ford Mustang RTR. Fredric Aasbo will aim for another championship in a brand new vehicle. Returning to the Series is top European contender, James Deane, who will be joined by top Polish driver Piotr Wiecek.

The event will also feature the AutoCon car show, vendor village, and open paddock for the fans. Each ticket holder will have access to their nearly 100 teams, displays, and vendors.
